Fun Days:

March 6 Dentist’s Day – Ewe. I don’t like the dentist. I know we HAVE to go, but do we have to celebrate it? If you’ve been putting off your visit, maybe you can use today to take a trip to the dentist. Sound fun?

March 6 National Frozen Food Day – We tend to eat frozen veggies for dinner all of the time because they’re easy. And we love ice cream! What’s your favorite frozen food? Today’s the day to eat it!

March 7 National Crown Roast of Pork Day – I’ve never made a crown roast, have you? Hmm…if you’re feeling adventurous try it out.

March 6 Employee Appreciation Day (first Friday in March) – Got employees? Make sure to thank them today! Thanks mom ;o)

March 11 Johnny Appleseed Day – Johnny Appleseed was a nurseryman who introduced apple trees in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. He traveled quite a bit, and preached during his travels. Check out all of my Johnny Appleseed ideas on pinterest and do a fun project with your kids today!

March 12 Girl Scouts Day – The Girl Scouts of America were created on March 12, 1912, and today they celebrate their charter. We’ll be eating some delicious thin mints today in honor.

March 12 Plant a Flower Day – Head out and do a little planting to make your yard beautiful!

March 12 Popcorn Lover’s Day – I think this day was created just for my daughter. She loves popcorn. Kettle corn to be specific. What’s your favorite kind of pop corn? Mine is caramel, yum!

March 14 National Potato Chip Day – Oh good! A day we can eat some chips with our lunch! What kind of chips do your kids like?

March 14 National Pi Day- Why today? Because today is 3.14, the value of Pi. Let’s all go and do some math! Or eat some pie. Definitely eat some pie.

March 15 Ides of March – The Ides of March is the first day of the Roman New Year, as well as the first day of spring in the Roman calendar. It was also the day Gaius Cassius Longinus and Marcus Junius Brutus assassinated Julius Ceasar in 44 B.C. His death was one of the events that marked the transition from the historical period known as the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire.

March 15 Incredible Kid Day – Take some time today to write a little note letting your child know why they’re incredible! Leave it in their backpacks as a special encouragement before school starts!

March 17 Submarine Day - Are we supposed to celebrate the hero sandwich or the boat? Most places say it’s the boat. But just in case it’s the sandwich I think we’ll make some subs for lunch!

March 17 Saint Patrick’s Day – St. Patrick’s day was created in honor of the Patron Saint of Ireland, who brought Christianity to the Emerald Isles (Ireland). It’s usually celebrated with public parades, festivals, and the wearing of green apparel! Let’s dress in green today! And maybe we’ll make some of these fun ideas from pinterest!

March 18 Supreme Sacrifice Day – Today celebrates those who have made sacrifices for us. Jesus Christ gave the supreme sacrifice when He died on the cross for us. We also celebrate soldiers, firemen, police officers, and others who have given their lives in the line of duty. Take some time today to talk about these wonderful people, and say thank you!

March 19 Poultry Day – I like chicken just as much as the next person, and so I guess we need a day to celebrate our feathered friends. Hmm..maybe we’ll celebrate with some eggs and toast for breakfast, followed by a chicken salad sandwich for lunch, and BBQ chicken for dinner! Wow, that’s a lot of poultry.

March 20 Extraterrestrial Abductions Day – um, no thank you.

March 21 National Quilting Day – (third Saturday of month) Ooh! There’s a day for quilting! YAY! I’ll just explain to my husband that today is National Quilting day, so he’ll be in charge of meals and kids while I pay homage to this national past time.

March 22 National Goof Off Day – Good thing today falls on a Sunday. I don’t think the principal would like the kids to goof off on a school day!

March 23 National Chip and Dip Day – I love chips and salsa, so we’ll be celebrating today with some freshly made salsa and yummy tortilla chips! Don’t like regular salsa? Have fun fruit salsa and cinnamon chip recipe you’re kids will love!

March 25 Waffle Day – Sounds like a great breakfast to me! Check out this homemade waffle recipe, and get to cooking!

March 26 National Spinach Day – oh my kids will be thrilled! Or not. Have a good creamed spinach recipe to share? Leave a comment.

March 28 Something on a Stick Day- I’m thinking corndogs and popsicles? I’m also thinking we won’t be eating all that healthy this month.

March 29 National Mom and Pop Business Owners Day – I think this applies to Bakersfield Family Fun, and all of the other lovely companies & etsy shops out there that you all have started up! Happy mom & pop business owners day everyone! Do you know someone with their own business? Send a little love their way today!

March 29 Smoke and Mirrors Day – Who doesn’t love a good magic trick? Teach your kiddos some new magic tricks, then have a show for them to amaze their family and friends!

March 30 Take a Walk in the Park Day – Get out for a walk, no matter where you live today and breath in the fresh air! I’m praying it’s not still snowing here, so I can actually do this!

March 31 Bunsen Burner Day – Have a bunsen burner? Feeling brave? Disclosure: I’m not liable for anyone who burns down their house, try this at your own risk. NOT for young children.

Happy March, and I’ll see you next month with a new list of fun stuff you can do for April!
