Becoming a Volunteer

Wikipedia defines volunteering as: "an unselfish activity, serving the society through own interest, personal skills or learning, which produces a feeling of self-worth and respect, instead of money. Volunteering is also famous for skill development, to socialize and to have fun." Service through volunteering allows us to practice doing what Jesus would do. It connects us to those we serve and gives us a kind of satisfaction that self-interest can never offer. It's a way we can join together to show love to our community.
HERE ARE SOME OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOU TO HELP OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY:
Operation: Soulwinner group has hosted numerous events including, backpack giveaways, Easter and Christmas programs as well as a bi-monthly Friday night event for kids. Also, has served many families in our area by providing basic needs.
NEEDS:
*Pick up and process Donations
*Donated building as a store and processing center

Show Love is our way of putting action behind our words, finding need in our community, and inviting an army of listener volunteers to show some serious love! That love looks like cleaning, it looks like painting, it looks like serving.
KAXL's first Show Love Bakesfield will be on April 25th at The Hope Center. The Hope Center offers free clothing and food for people in need in the Oildale area. Their facility is in some serious need of TLC. We are asking all of our listeners to join the Life FM staff for a few hours on April 25th to serve this wonderful charity. No experience necessary whatsoever. If you can hold a duster or a paintbrush, and have a great attitude, we want you!
